SISG was formed in November 1998 following a volunteer pilot scheme within Ayr Hospital.

SISG currently have 4 staff members and 14 Hearing Hubs – Ayr, Prestwick, Troon, Girvan, Alloway, Largs, Arran, West Kilbride Saltcoats, Kilwinning, Cumnock, Kilmaurs, Galston and Kilmarnock.

There are 27 Battery Pick Up Points across North, South and East Ayrshire libraries, and we currently have 25 Volunteers working in the community for SISG.

SISG carry out visits to over 2,000 Older People with Hearing and/or Sight Loss throughout North South and East Ayrshire each year.

Visits take place in Care Homes / Sheltered Housing Complexes / Individuals Homes.
